Savings!

My Savings account is up above $300 for the first time since the end of the summer and my credit card debt is getting smaller by the month. I'm excited, this means that I have definitely been saving more. Either that, or I'm just making more... One of the two.

Just keeping you informed...

My Birthday is This Weekend!

Ok, so the no more getting drunk for no reason is going to be ignored for a couple days this weekend. It's my birthday, so I'm going to have some drinks, it's only right. I guess this isn't no reason, but it's close enough to no reason.

Other than this weekend, I've been keeping really close to this one. I've only had a drink here and there and it's usually for dinner anyway.

Just keeping you all updated...

Basketball and Climbing!

Ok, three times a week, I've been playing basketball... Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Three times a week, I've been climbing... Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The days that I haven't been doing one of the two, I've either been running or doing half hour - forty five minute sets on my campus board. I've gained five pounds of muscle since the middle of winter break, which has caused Chris to have to anchor himself to the floor to belay me... haha

Just keeping you all updated.

Yay for classes

Ok, I bet you guys have thought I have forgotten about my resolutions...

NEVER FEAR, I HAVE NOT and I have no intention to.

I've been studying a good two to three hours a day. Not per class, usually about an hour per class, but this is an hour more than I've ever studied for a class before, ever.

Just keepin you all up to date.

Last Saturday

As some of you may have seen here we had a few people over to drink last saturday. While everyone was getting drunk, I was taking pictures with my new favorite toy :). This camera is going to save me from drinking and getting drunk for a long time. As long as I have somethign to keep myself busy when we go out, I'll be ok with not drinking :) yay!

Basketball!!

This seems to be the resolution that I have posted the most for. Every Monday evening, I'll be playing some basketball at the HPER with brothers. Hopefully on Wednesdays, I will be doign the same, we'll see how that goes. Every morning, when I wake up, I've been spending 15 minutes to a half an hour working out on my campus board. I'm already starting to see progress in my shoulders, biceps and abs. Not only have I been doing the pullups on the board, I've also been doing leg-ups and other ab excercises. Definitely happy with the progress this board offeres. It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to find time to swim like I had hoped, but it's still early in the semester and I have plenty of time to figure that out.

Day 13

Ok, now that classes have started, you may be asking yourself, "What's Tom going to do to study more?" Well, here's your answer: I've been blogging my class notes, and when I study them, I've been editing them. This process of post, edit, edit, edit, edit... etc. will allow me to keep refreshing my knowledge of the subject material.

Day, blah.

Haven't been drunk since, oh jeez, the Friday right before winter break, that'll be December 19th.

Day, blah.

Ok, so the last three days have been great ones. I played some basketball yesterday and today for about two hours each day, I ran two miles in about 20 minutes on Monday and Wednesday, and each day since Monday, I've done a good 30 minute set (or more) on the Campus Board. I'm making good progress on this resolution, we'll just have to see what happens when I get back to class. I should be alright, I think Neil and I are going to go to the gym on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the late morning to work out in some way shape or form. I also want to start swimming some. Maybe I won't have time for all of that, but it'll be ok. Monday night is always Psi-ball, so you bet your bottom that I'll be there.

Day whatever day it is.

Just to update everyone. I haven't spent over $100 yet this year (well besides my rent, which was $340). I'm quite happy with that. I've been eating the food I find in the house and such.

I'm going to go on a jog sometime today (Monday). Probably when I get off work and want to bear the elements for a while. Its quite cold, but that's not going to stop me. I'll just throw a sweatshirt on and head. Before I go, I'm going to do a couple series on my kampus board.

Haven't had a drop of alcohol this year, yay for that!

That's all really.

peace

Day 1

Last night when I got back to Bloomington, I mounted my campus board. I also did a few sets of pullups on the board (30 minutes).

This morning, I started the day off with a nice 20 minute run. It was good although I only ran two miles. I ran four the other day and about killed myself. That was my normal run at the end of the summer, but I haven't run like that for a semester. I'll probably just run two miles for a week or so more, then work up to three, then four. By this summer, I will be running four miles at a time, maybe more.

that's all, peace

The Resolutions

Since the purpose of this web log is to chronicle my progress toward meeting my New Year's Resolutions, I should list what they are.

  1. No more getting drunk from drinking. After seeing what happened to Tony and Ryan last night from drinking, I'm done. No more.

  2. More studying. This should help me achieve my goal of a 4.0 this semester. I am going to get all my homework done and finish all my studying before any fun stuff each and every evening.

  3. More physical activity. This is doable. For most people, it's not. I will be more physically active. I plan to do this in the mornings, and a couple nights a week when I climb. No more late nights, no more sleeping in. I'm not going to be a slacker anymore.

  4. Save more. I have spent, spent, and spent some more this last year. Those days are over as well. I will save money, that's all there is to say about that.

Well, there they are.

Tony and I vowed last night that we won't be drinking to get drunk the rest of the semester. That's a good start for me since a semester is a third of a year. If I can make it that far, I can make it an entire year. The physical thing, I am going to start tomorrow with a nice afternoon jog, saving starts today since the only payment that I need to make is rent, studying won't start until school starts back up.

That's all, expect more later.
peace
